Most church training is way too heavy.
We're trying to teach everything we know and help people not forget important steps on Sunday, both at once. That's the problem.
I've started splitting training into two layers, and it's made a big difference.
Layer 1 is for the volunteer who serves once or twice a month. They want to show up and not mess things up.
Give them a short checklist and a few basic videos. That's all Layer 1 needs. It should be easy to start and easy to finish.
Layer 2 is for the people who enjoy this stuff. They want to know why things work, not only which buttons to push.
You don't change anything about Sunday training for them. You give them a simple next step, something like a resources page with a few great deep-dive videos or links.
Most of your team will live in Layer 1. A smaller group will find their way to Layer 2 on their own.
You don't have to force it, and you don't have to overcomplicate it. Make the basics dead simple for the busy people. Then give the learners an obvious door to walk through when they're ready.

A simple next step, like a resources page with a few great deep-dive videos or links. Their Sunday training stays the same.

No. Most of your team will stay in Layer 1, and a smaller group will find their way to Layer 2 on their own when they're ready.
The Church Notion System puts every media role, every step and every training video in one Notion hub your team can open on Sunday.
